From Battlefield to Bar Stools. Brandon grew up in a close-knit family with a deep sense of patriotism. After graduating from High School, he enlisted in the U.S. Army, driven by a strong desire to serve his country and seek adventure. He went on to serve over 10 years in the army, as an enlisted and officer with dedication and determination. During his time in the military, he was deployed to various parts of the world, before settling down here in Hawaii.
Driven by his desire to create a welcoming space, Brandon began purchasing bars after his military service. With support from veterans and professionals, he opened his first location at Anna O'Briens, a historic venue known for local music and its proximity to the University of Hawaii. It first opened in 1969 as Anna Bannana’s. Brandon purchased the bar from William Commerford and looks to keep the name and its deep knitted roots in the local community.
